​Ethan Katz is a historian and author who seeks to illuminate the crises of today by analyzing imprints of the past. He also is a frequent analyst and speaker on contemporary issues of antisemitism, Islamophobia, and democratic culture in the U.S., France, and elsewhere. His scholarship focuses on the modern Jewish experience, Jewish-Muslim relations, and questions of belonging and exclusion in Europe and the Middle East, especially France and North Africa.
